Jamaican Jerk Seasoning Mix

One hing anyone would bring back from the Caribbeans is their Jamaican Jerk recipe! Although, I have to admit, I didn’t get a chance to learn it first hand, I learned how to make it from someone who did. I LOVE Jamaican Jerk! Not too many people are fond of its sweetness, but I find it to be exquisite and flavorful!


Jamaican Jerk Seasoning Mix


1 tablespoon onion flakes

2 teaspoons ground thyme

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon hot pepper flakes

1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon garlic powder

2 teaspoons salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 teaspoons sugar

2 teaspoons dried chives


In an air-tight jar, mix all the ingredients and give it a little shake. Store and use as needed!

But………. you are not finished just yet!

Before applying the seasoning to your meat or seafood, brush on the following mix:

Puree together:

1 cup Pineapple

1/2 cup Sriracha (or 1/4 Cayenne Pepper and Paprika mix)

Gives it that additional punch!
