Baked Aloo Samosas

Everyone is on a health trip these days! Diet this, diet that! I can’t eat this, I can’t eat that! I personally feel that no one needs to go on a diet. I think if you are good about exercising, then all you have left is to control your portions when you eat. Food plates in restaurants in the US are just enormous. Way over the portion sizes that anyone should be eating per meal!

My Baked Aloo Samosas are a good way to enjoy the foods you love, cut out the fried goodness full-of-oil, and keep your meal small. It has so much flavor and goodness packed on the inside, you don’t feel the need to keep eating to compensate. Another trick is to eat slower! I am guilty of not doing that! I devour my food. haha

These snacks are a favorite of everyone I have made them for. They are quick, easy, and packed with loads of flavor. You can experiment with the stuffing, that’s the best part! It doesn’t have to be the traditional aloo (potato) Indian stuffing. You can put Chorizo, Soy bean Saute, Corn and Spinach, and many more! It is a small item that has a huge variety of options! Kids love it too!

Baked Aloo Samosas

Baked Aloo Samosa

Servings: 8 servings

Total Time: 5 minutes (Cook Time 20 minutes with Aloo Stuffing)

Ingredients:

Aloo Stuffing

8 Tortillas

1/4 cup Flour (all-purpose)

1 cup Water

Directions:

After you finish preparing the Aloo Stuffing, take half of your tortillas and place them between two wet paper towels, in the microwave for 35 seconds (or 30 if you do 2 at a time which takes longer, but has better holding results)

Once the tortillas are warm, it is easy to fold them. Take them and cut them in half. Place a spoonful in the center of the half and fold one side. To keep these flaps together, you mix a little of flour and water in a bowl, dip your fingers in, and rub that along the edge of the tortillas where the edges meet. repeat this for the other flap to make your samosa.

Pop this into a toaster over for 3 minutes (on medium-high heat or 375) and serve hot!
