Foods to Superfoods – Get your Nutrients!

I came across this article on Yahoo!Health and found it to be quite helpful when looking for foods with specific vitamins and nutrients. Of course many of these types of articles come out weekly, monthly, yearly, but since I’m in search of something now, this was very helpful!

Most of these items are definitely not items I would of thought of buying!! Some items don’t look too appetizing, but if you are looking for a natural, more “organic” way of getting your nutrients and vitamins, it’s the way to go!

The most interesting post in this article (that I thought stood out!) was the post about Purslane.

The fact they said… “ You know that weed that sometimes sprouts from the cracks in your sidewalk? Yeah, you can eat it”… didn’t settle too well with me. If you think about it, there is still earth below that sidewalk and something was growing there much earlier than the sidewalk was laid down. I guess I have to give it a try!

One I will for sure never eat again… OYSTERS! Not my cup of tea! Although, I tried them once in a paella dish and when you mix them together, it really tasted like nothing…. or as they say “like chicken”!
